Today we visited the gardens at Belmont, near Faversham. Although we did glimpse an elderly couple, all dressed up, when we first arrived, we saw no-one else durng the visit – quite nice really. I loved a wall garden and Couscous likes running around lawns (even on a lead) so this venue worked well for us. I also love a ha-ha, a field of sheep, Victorian green houses and an ice-house. Would like to visit in the summer and see the house as well.

We spent a couple of days in Norfolk recently so Couscous could have a bit of a run round on the sand. She loved the puddles on the way to the sea line at Holkham.

Whitlingham Country Park, Norwich

At the end of our Norwich weekend we stopped in at some Norwich Broads – Whitlingham Country Park. Couscous seemed to love it. Decent length of walk around the lake. I loved the outside cafe tables that had objects displayed in the table top – especially the archaeological ones.

Leysdown-on-sea, Kent

We wanted to avoid the traffic over most of Kent, as it has been so horrendous lately with Operation Stack. So we went to Leysdown-on-sea on the Isle of Sheppey – via a slight detour towards Maidstone to avoid a congested area on the M2. A hot, sunny Sunday made it perfect beach weather. We got fish and chips in the town and ate them on the beach before going for a stroll.

Leybourne Lake, Kent

Leybourne Lakes is probably on this blog under a different name. We visit every now and then for a walk around the lake. Not bad after wet weather but there will be some bits of the path that get a little flooded.

Forest Way, East Sussex

A few weeks back now we drove to Forest Row for a Sunday walk along Forest Way. Nice wide path but far too many cyclists for our liking. There is no public toilet but there is a community centre with one – but it wasn’t open when we were there. There was a good cafe with a loo and a Tesco across the road.
